Description Of The Scholarship
The Wellcome Trust Masters Fellowships scheme strengthens scientific research capacity in low and middle-income countries. They do this by providing support for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at a Master’s degree level.
These researches are aimed at understanding and improving public health and tropical medicine of local, national and global relevance. Public health and tropical medicine cover a wide range of health problems, including communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Eligibility and Criteria
Applicants must be national or legal residents of a low and middle-income country and must hold a first degree in a subject relevant to tropical medicine or public health which may be clinical or non-clinical. In addition, he or she must be at an early stage in his career, with a limited experience in research. The applicant must have demonstrated interest in or aptitude for research.
