The benefits of the scholarship include J-1 visa support, round-trip economy class air travel from the
fellow’s home city to the host institution in the U.S., funding for tuition and fees, coverage for living and
related costs, and accident and sickness insurance as per the guidelines set by the U.S. Government.
Eligibility and Criteria for fulbright scholarship programs
- Applicants must have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized Indian university, with a minimum of 55% marks, which is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, candidates can also possess a four-year bachelor’s degree, a completed master’s degree, or a full-time postgraduate diploma from a recognized Indian institution if their bachelor’s degree is less than four years in duration.
- In addition to the educational requirements, candidates must have at least three years of full-time paid professional work experience relevant to their proposed field of study by the application deadline. They should also demonstrate a track record of leadership and community service.
- Applicants should not hold another degree from a U.S. university nor be currently enrolled in a U.S. degree program.
- If currently employed, applicants must carefully follow the instructions provided for obtaining the employer’s endorsement. If applicable, they need to obtain an endorsement from the appropriate administrative authority on the FNMasters Employer’s Endorsement Form, confirming that leave will be granted for the fellowship period.
